Waves of Change

Gerardo Navarro enacts the role of Columbus in a performance at the San Francisco Art Institute. The set is the part of the exhibition called "The Myth of Discovery". The exhibit was in 1992 and it was the quincentinial of Columbus"discovering" America. The sails of the boat were made from movie posters for a film about Columbus. The boat was filled with old copies of National Geographic.
